Talking about his role to build Netskope business in India, Ajay said, “With this shift, enterprises must have visibility, compliance, security, and control over what data is shared with what apps, to ensure their IT systems are not compromised. Netskope helps enterprises confidently adopt the cloud in a secure, compliant way while addressing the challenges of visibility and control.”

It only took Ajay and his team a few weeks to have multiple customers using the Netskope Cloud Security platform and 20+ active POCs, informed Tony.

Globally, Netskope is a channel centric company, which is equally as important across India and SAARC. “I cannot stress enough the importance of our VAR and MSSP ecosystem to develop our business across the region. End users want to work with local, knowledgeable and skilled people that know the Cloud Security marketplace. We have already signed and trained multiple partners across the region,” said Tony.

There is a large market opportunity in CASB area across India for security and technology vendor companies, according to industry reports.  As organizations increasingly adopt cloud services, IT is often challenged to keep track of all of the cloud apps being used in the enterprise.

In addition to well-known apps sanctioned by IT (such as Office 365, G Suites, Box, Dropbox, etc.), there are many unsanctioned apps used within organizations that could potentially pose a risk.

“Moving data to the cloud puts the organization at risk for malware and other security threats, putting added pressure on security teams to stay a step ahead of the evolving landscape. This continues to present an enormous opportunity for the CASB market and Netskope in particular, to help enterprises address these challenges by providing visibility, access control, threat protection, security, and compliance, added Tony.

Ajay Gupta began his career with security company Euclid in 1998.

He was regional sales manager with Ramco Systems for six years before he joined Websense (now Forcepoint) in 2007 for his longest career stint of over eleven years.

“In this new role, I’m looking forward to partnering with customers and growing Netskope’s presence in India to ensure companies can adopt cloud and keep pace with digital transformation in 2018 and beyond,” said Ajay Gupta, Country Manager, Netskope India.
