Smt. Shubhagata Kumar is the Additional Director General & Chief Information Security Officer, Directorate Of Systems; Central Board Of Indirect taxes & Customs (CBIC), Govt. Of India.
Smt. Kumar is 1992 batch officer of Indian Revenue Services. Her Academic profile is Masters in Economics from Delhi School of Economics. She began her services in Kolkata customs house in 1994. She joined Kolkotta Zonal office of Directorate of Systems (DoS) in Aug, 2000 and supervised inter alia EDI operations, implementation of message exchange & CBIC’s network (ICENET ) in the East zone. She was posted to DoS, New Delhi in 2005.
She implemented CBIC’s Data Warehouse project; the first data warehouse in central government. In 2009-10, she was posted to Central Excise Delhi, where she supervised the rollout of ACES application in Delhi zone. She was posted to the Systems Integration(SI) project in June 2010 at DoS. She was responsible for the implementation of ISO 27001 compliant security policy & procedures as well as supporting ITIL processes for IT Service Management. Since 2015, she has been responsible for Project Saksham, CBIC’s IT Infrastructure project. She is trained in Indian classical music and also writes poetry in Hindi & English.
